My name is Erin, I'm 22 years old, and I'm going to be an au pair in Paris in January. I am from New Jersey, and I just recently graduated from Rutgers University with degrees in French and history. Shockingly, finding a job was pretty difficult, so I decided to experience life abroad and move to Paris.
After studying abroad in Paris two summers ago, I fell in love with the city, and I wanted to spend some more time living the Parisian life. Although I love pretty much love all movies that romanticize Paris, that charming and elegant city does not match my experience. I want to show the real Paris where yes, everyone still dresses better than Americans, but not in stereotypical Chanel outfits, where you go to bars to drink a lot of beer, never wine, and where once you get to know Parisians, they are some of the nicest, most down-to-earth people you'll ever meet.
I'll be eating unassuming food, drinking cheap beer, and showing what life is like away from the Eiffel Tower. Coincidentally, I will be living right across the street from the landmark, BUT this will not stop me from exploring life outside this mecca of tourism.
